Agnes E. Kull, CPA - Chairman Expertise: A comment by her first boss that she was "just a bookkeeper" was all the inspiration Agnes needed. Studying at night, she became an accountant at a time when there were few women in the profession. "We were one of the first accounting firms that had women partners," she said. "Nathan (Greenberg) saw the success he had with me, so he never looked at gender." Today she serves as the firm's Chairman of the Board. Agnes heads the firm's Trust Department and provides estate-planning services to individuals. "It's different from auditing because there is a lot of personal interaction with clients and their families," she said. "I get involved in my clients' lives. You have to understand human nature as well as numbers to do this. I love what I do." Agnes has received public service awards from both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Massachusetts Society of CPAs. She is also a recipient of the YWCA of Central Massachusetts' Katharine F. Erskine Award for Business and Law, which honors women for their business accomplishments and service to nonprofit organizations. As Chairman of Greenberg, Rosenblatt, Kull &
Bitsoli, Agnes believes that her role is "to represent the company to
the outside world and to instill in our staff the belief that our reputation
is our most important product." That reputation, she added, "is based
not only on how well the firm serves its clients, but on ethics and accountability,
from the top of the firm on down." Civic Activities: Previous: Memberships: Next »
